BIO:
Robert Toms is an LA native, born and raised. He started reading at age 2, and has been devouring both fiction and nonfiction ever since. His love for both performing and science became unignorable during his time at La Canada High School, where he was very active in both the theatre and choir programs, and talked his way into meeting with members of NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory weekly after school to study select topics in physics and astronomy. He is a graduate of Indiana University, having received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre in May of 2017.
After a few years of theatrical success, he decided to officially build expertise in a few of his other emerging interests—specifically psychology, neuroscience, and linguistics. He recently received his Master’s in Applied Neuroscience (with Distinction) from King’s College of London, completing it in August 2023.
He has also started writing upmarket fiction as a means of analyzing and assimilating his interdisciplinary studies with world events and trends, all while satisfying his creative impulse. His debut novel, released in July of 2022, has sold over 100 copies and received overwhelmingly positive responses from readers.
He has had the time of his life meeting, working, and growing with such a diverse group of kind, talented and respectful people, and hopes he can look forward to many more years of doing just that. He soon plans to join a research lab, progress to a PhD, write a children’s book, and start a Neurotheology-oriented YouTube channel. Take a look around!
